Wondering how your handwriting becomes a finished piece of jewelry?

·       When you submit your handwriting image, I first go to work creating a digital copy of your loved one's handwriting. The first step in the process is to lighten up the background and darken the handwriting. I also remove anything in the image that isn't meant for engraving, such as extra text or lines from a sheet of paper. 

·       Next, I convert your image to line art in photoshop, then I use that image to create your final proof for review.  This proof shows the layout of your handwriting on the shape and size of pendant that you have ordered and is emailed to you for review.  Any adjustments are made at this time and production does not begin until the proof is approved by you. 

·       Upon approval of your proof, I make a photopolymer plate, which is a reverse replica of your handwriting, and press it directly into sterling silver metal clay.  Your pendant shape is cut, dried and sanded to perfect the shape, then fired in a kiln for over 3 hours at 1650 Fahrenheit. 

·       The last few steps involve polishing, adding a black patina, doing a quality check to ensure that the impression is perfect, and adding the pendant to your desired necklace, bracelet or key ring. 

 

Questions You May Be Wondering

Is the engraving on my pendant permanent?
Using photopolymer plates to impress your Love Note into the metal clay creates a deep, lasting impression designed to be treasured for generations.  The black patina can fade over time if the pendant is not cared for properly, but it is easy to reapply and I do not charge for this service. 

What materials are used to make my pendant?
I use sterling silver metal clay, which after fired is SOLID sterling silver.  I never engrave on pre-made or plated blanks.  Every piece I make is cut individually and truly one of a kind. 

How long does it take to receive my Love Note Pendant?
Most orders are completed in 1-2 weeks, but I ask for you to allow 2-3 weeks, especially during peak holidays (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas).  If you choose economy shipping, your order typically arrives in 4-7 business days; Standard shipping typically arrives in 2-4 business days and Express shipping typically arrives in 1-2 business days.   

Is there a limit to the length of handwriting or text that can be used?
The amount of handwriting, text or drawing completely depends on the handwriting and the size and shape of the pendant.  If you are unsure what size to order, you are always welcome to email your image, and I will recommend the size that will work best.  Keep in mind, the more handwriting you have, the smaller it will be.  If I receive an order that I believe will be too small, I will contact you to discuss your options. 

How do I submit the handwriting?
You will simply email a well focused photo to info@atimelessimpression.com either prior to purchase or after purchase.  As long as the email on your order is the same as the email you are sending it from, I can easily match it.  If not, simply reference your order number.   

Can I preview what the pendant will look like before it's made?
Yes, I send a final proof approximately 3-5 business days after receiving your order, allowing you to see a digital mock-up of your handwriting on the shape and size of pendant you have ordered. Production does not begin until the proof is approved. 

Is there a warranty or guarantee on my finished pendant?
I stand behind the quality of the products I offer.  If you're not completely satisfied or if there are any defects, please reach out to me at info@atimelessimpression.com and I will personally work with you to make it right.

Is it possible to engrave handwriting from multiple sources onto one pendant?
Yes, I can use different images to combine words into one phrase.  I can also make your pendant double-sided with different handwriting on each side of the pendant. 

Can I add additional pendants or customize the design further?
